For over 35 years Wellington Summer Shakespeare has presented performances of Shakespearean works for the general public and schools supporting the participation and development of emerging artists and young people in the performing arts. We aim to make the performances as enjoyable and accessible as possible for diverse performers, production crew and audiences.

Summer Shakespeare is unique in Wellington because it is the only large scale outdoor theatrical production in the region. It is not just a play but an ‘event’ that brings together town and gown, community, student, teacher, professional and amateur – all ages and ethnicities.

As a part of the Production Team you will be working closely with the director, general manager and the board to execute the production in February 2023. Auditions will be held in October and rehearsals will be on a part -time basis from November-February.
